Bare Metal Server
A single-tenant physical server with no virtualization layer, giving you direct access to the hardware.
Bare metal is a physical server with nothing between your OS and the silicon. No hypervisor, no shared kernel, no virtualization tax. You get every core and the full memory bandwidth, which matters for databases, game servers, and anything sensitive to latency jitter.
Vultr and OVHcloud both rent bare metal by the hour or month, and Hetzner's dedicated line is a favorite for the price. The difference from a VPS is that you're not sharing the box with anyone, so there's no risk of a neighbor stealing cycles under load.
The cost of that isolation is agility. Provisioning takes longer than spinning up a VM, and you can't slice a physical machine smaller when you overbuy. For bursty or uncertain workloads, virtualized cloud usually wins.
