Managed Kubernetes is table stakes at this point, so the real question is what it costs you when things go sideways at 2am. DigitalOcean's control plane is free and its docs assume you're a small team, not a platform group. Google Cloud runs GKE, the product Kubernetes itself grew out of, and it shows in how the autoscaler and node pools behave under load. Scaleway and OVHcloud are worth a look specifically if data residency in the EU is a hard requirement rather than a nice-to-have, since both run clusters entirely on European infrastructure.
