Charges beyond the advertised base price, like egress fees, IP addresses, backups, and support, that inflate the real bill.
Hidden costs are the charges the headline price doesn't mention but your invoice does. Egress fees for data leaving the network. A monthly charge per IPv4 address. Snapshots and backups billed per gigabyte. Load balancers, managed database add-ons, premium support tiers. Individually small, together they can double the "cheap" plan you thought you were buying.
The hyperscalers are where this bites hardest, because their pricing decomposes every service into separately metered pieces. A modest VM plus its storage, its transfer, its IP, its snapshots, and its support can land at several times the compute line item. Flat-rate VPS hosts hide less because they bundle more into one price, though even they add fees for extra backups or IPs.
