Linode's Block Storage is fairly priced for 1TB at $100/mo, but several providers offer lower per-GB rates if you can tolerate object storage or are willing to accept retrieval fees and minimum retention periods. The real risk with Linode is hidden egress bandwidth charges ($0.005/GB) once you exceed pooled allowance, which can quickly erode savings on cheaper alternatives.
At roughly $0.0085/GB/month for performance plus $0.01/GB capacity, OCI's block storage costs ~$9.50/month for 1TB, a 90% saving versus Linode.
Caveat: VPU (performance tier) is billed separately and charged regardless of actual I/O used; early termination or scale-down may not refund unused VPU charges.

Cool tier costs $0.01/GB/month ($10.24 for 1TB), but is object storage, not block; retrieval and early-deletion fees apply if you need frequent access.
